Sheriff’s Department shoots, kills man in Hacienda Heights

At least one Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy opened fire and killed a man in Hacienda Heights Monday morning.

The shooting in the 16700 block of Dawn Haven Road occurred around 5:30 a.m. after deputies responded to a reported assault, according to Lt. Hiraka and a press release from the LASD.

Sheriff’s officials later clarified that the situation was a family disturbance and included an alleged assault with a deadly weapon.

The man, who has not been identified by authorities, was shot at least once and declared dead at the scene.

No deputies were injured, and no further details were available.
