Man fatally stabbed at Woodland Hills apartment complex, suspect sought

A stabbing in Woodland Hills left a man dead Sunday, and police asked for the public’s help Monday in identifying his killer.

The stabbing was reported at about 2 a.m., and stemmed from a verbal dispute at an apartment complex on the 22100 block of Erwin Street, Los Angeles Police Department officials said in a news release. Paramedics took the victim, 25-year-old Christopher Westley Pearson, to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead Sunday.

A motive for the stabbing and the cause of the fight preceding it were unclear as of Monday evening, police said. A description of any possible suspect was not immediately available.

Police asked anyone with information about the killing to contact the LAPD’s Valley Homicide Bureau at 818-374-9550. Tips can also be left anonymously by either calling 800-222-8477 or texting 274637 with a message beginning with the letters “LAPD.”
