Drive-up July 4 fireworks display was spectacular thanks to Shepherd Church in Porter Ranch
San Fernando Valley residents were treated to a “4th of July Spectacular” fireworks show by Shepherd Church with a bit of a twist due to Covid-19 cautions.
The independent and non-denominational church has been presenting a July 4 fireworks event with musical entertainment and activities for children for many years until 2020 when church officials cancelled the show due to the pandemic.
This year, still thinking of the public’s health, they decided to try a drive-up and stay-in-your-car celebration for Independence Day near their church site on Rinaldi Street at Corbin Avenue. Music and announcements were communicated over 87.9 FM radio.
The event was sponsored by Kathryn Barger (Los Angeles County Supervisor, 5th District), John Lee (Los Angeles City Councilmember, Council District 12), Kake Kreations, Suzette Martinez Valladares (38th Assembly District), UCLA Health and the Vineyards at Porter Ranch.
