3 restaurants are among 5 new tenants joining Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge’s roster in Studio City

Three restaurants, a home and garden retailer and a wellness center are coming to upscale The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, according to the plaza’s owners.

The shopping and dining center, which is set to open in the fall, announced five additional tenants, including UOVO, SUGARFISH, HiHo Cheeseburger, Rolling Greens and Next Health.

“As the new gathering place in the Valley, offering a combination of world-class shops and restaurants, our objective is to provide guests with a balanced mix of places to eat, and shop for food, fashion, health and wellness,” says John Usdan, Chief Executive Officer of property owner Midwood Investment & Development, in a statement.

The plaza located at the corner of Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Ventura Boulevard is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar makeover by New York City-based Midwood Investment & Development firm. Other tenants include Civil Coffee, Free People Movement, Madison Reed, Myodetox, Roberta’s Pizza, SALT Optics, Tocaya, Tuesday’s Sweet Shoppe, Ushi Ushi and luxury supermarket chain Erewhon Market.

Sushi restaurant SUGARFISH is set to open this fall with a menu featuring sashimi, sushi, hand rolls and crisp nori.

HiHo Cheeseburger, known for its servicing 100% grass-fed Wagyu beef, is also expected to also open in the fall.

“When we found this great location in Studio City, all three of our companies jumped at the chance,” said SUGARFISH, UOVO, and HiHo Cheeseburger co-founder Jerry A. Greenberg.  “While the three restaurants are separate companies run by different teams, they share the same values and commitment to serving only the best.  We are very excited to bring our restaurants to The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge.”

The Sportsmen’s Lodge began operating in the 1880s, eventually turning into a popular gathering spot frequented by studio executives and actors, including Hollywood legends such as Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn and John Wayne.

Accessible from the Los Angeles River trail, the plaza will feature open-air communal spaces where visitors can sit down to sip coffee or eat lunch. The complex’s waterfront “Redwood Deck” will host tenant and center events.
